Alyson Moriarty, is a dedicated leader in healthcare education and a proud member of the College Academy Class of 2017!
Alyson currently serves as the Founder and Executive Director of theMedi-Gators ProgramandMedi-Futures Program, which provide accessible and impactful mentorship and shadowing opportunities to pre-health students at institutions across Florida. Since founding Medi-Gators in 2020, the program has grown to include over 15,000 student participants and more than 800 healthcare professionals! In this role, Alyson leads a team of 65 members atUniversity of Florida, developing initiatives such as the Virtual Shadowing Program, Faculty Mentorship Program, Peer Mentorship Program, and Ambassador Program. She has also spearheaded signature events, including Networking Banquets, Clinical Skills Workshops, Women in Medicine and Science workshops, and Admissions Preparation conferences. Additionally, through partnerships withUF Healthand theUF Career Connections Center, her team has secured free scrubs for students to use during shadowing and clinical experiences.
Alyson’s leadership expanded in 2022 with the launch of Medi-Futures, which has grown into a national program currently present at 11 institutions in Florida and is set to expand into Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and Connecticut. Her work extends beyond programming—she actively mentors aspiring healthcare leaders while conducting educational research on health career exposure and diversity in the pipeline to medical professions.
Alyson's academic journey is equally impressive. After graduating from CA in 2017, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Florida in 2021. She then completed a master’s degree in Medical Sciences at theUniversity of South Floridain 2024 and is preparing to begin medical school in July 2025, with clinical interests in pediatric surgery and emergency medicine. She has also gained valuable hands-on experience working in the Neuromedicine ICU at UF Health Shands Hospital.
