Alumna Calah Martin is a dedicated public health advocate and aspiring leader in the field!
Calah graduated from College Academy in 2021 and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health at Nova Southeastern University in December 2023, earning Dean’s List recognition throughout her undergraduate studies.
Calah went on to earn a one-year Master’s Program in Public Health from NSU as part of the university’s Dual Admission program. During her time at NSU, she gained valuable experience through various research opportunities, including a group project for the Social Determinants of Mental Health Case Competition. In this project, Calah’s team developed a proposal aimed at addressing a social determinant of mental health that adversely affects communities in South Florida.
While a public health student, Calah received training as a mental health first aider, collaborated with public health professionals and organizations, and earned certification to facilitate mental health training. She was also an active member of the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, contributing to her community in meaningful ways.
Calah is currently an Abstractor with HCS Florida Kendall Hospital. In addition to her academic achievements, Calah is also an author, having published her first book last year—a remarkable accomplishment that highlights her drive to make an impact in various fields.
