Alumnus Felipe Tarcinale took a three-year break from his studies at Broward College during uncertainty of the pandemic. That hiatus was enough for him to reassess and rekindle his desire to obtain a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. When he did return to BC, he came back with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Within the supportive environment that Broward College offered him, professors Robert Donato and Mirsad Krijestorac stood out as the most influential for Felipe. When he graduated in December 2024, he left excited for the opportunities it would bring and confident that his life was heading in the right direction.
Immediately after graduation he put his skills and education to work by volunteering at the Visit Lauderdale Food and Wine festival. The festival allowed him to network and connect with people who inspired him in this field. Not only did he get to network with top restaurants and industry professionals, but he also got to enjoy their delicious food—a true win-win! Felipe encourages all students or hospitality alumni to volunteer for it.
Indeed, the volunteering opportunity was a game-changer for his career: shortly after the festival, he landed a job in the wine industry where he now works a sales representative for a wine distributor.
About his experience at Broward College, Felipe says, “I loved my time at Broward College! I think this college sets people up for success and I'm happy to say I attended it. Whether you are a young student or an adult student, Broward College will always support you."
