Michael LaBonia is a Class of 2015 College Academy at Broward College graduate and a dedicated finance professional who has built an impressive career in global banking.
After graduating from College Academy, Michael attended theUniversity of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance. During his time at UF, Michael gained valuable experience through summer internships with bothWells FargoandJ.P. Morgan. He also studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, as part of his international MBA program, further expanding his global perspective.
Upon completing his MBA, Michael moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to join J.P. Morgan’s Global Bank Analyst Program, where he worked in the Credit & Risk Group from 2019 to 2021. In this role, he supported credit risk directors and executives across the U.S., providing strategic capital solutions for mergers and acquisitions, growth capital, leveraged buyouts, and other transformative events.
In 2021, Michael returned to Miami, Florida, to join J.P. Morgan’s Tech & Disruptive Commerce Group as an Associate. In this role, he supported senior bankers in helping mid-cap companies access capital and international markets to support their operational expansion.
Most recently, in 2024, Michael took on an exciting new opportunity and relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he now works within J.P. Morgan’s International Banking Group. As an advisor to multinational corporations with annual revenues ranging from $50 million to $2 billion, Michael provides expertise in global cash and liquidity management, foreign exchange, global trade, merchant services, and international financing.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys traveling across the U.S., having taken 52 flights in 2023 alone! Despite his busy schedule, he always makes time to return to Gainesville for a UF football game.
