Alumna Sarah Chetram is a driven member of the College Academy Class of 2020, whose journey in the field of medicine is just getting started.
After graduating from the College Academy at Broward College, Sarah attended the University of Florida where she continued her studies in Biology, a major she began pursuing for her AA at CA. Alongside her major, Sarah also minored in Spanish and engaged in a variety of extracurricular activities, including membership in the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), where she gained valuable insights from physicians. Sarah also volunteered as a NICU Cuddler at SHAND'S HOSPITAL OF UF, holding babies and ensuring their rooms were stocked with supplies.
One of Sarah’s most memorable experiences was studying abroad in Valencia, Spain, for six weeks during the summer after her sophomore year, where she enhanced her Spanish language skills and embraced the cultural experience.
Graduating cum laude from the University of Florida in August 2023, Sarah is now taking a gap year to prepare for the MCAT and gain further clinical experience. She currently volunteers at a daycare for dementia patients and is seeking opportunities as a medical scribe and shadowing physicians.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys fishing, spending time with friends, and unwinding with Netflix or YouTube.
We are so proud of Sarah’s accomplishments and her dedication to pursuing a career in medicine. Her journey is just beginning, and we are excited to see what the future holds!
