For Sequoah Lloyd, Broward College was more than a place to earn a degree—it was the launchpad for a career, a business, and a lifelong commitment to innovation and learning.

A proud two-time Broward College graduate, Sequoah earned an Associate in Arts in May 2018 and returned to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science in December 2025. Along the way, Broward College helped transform an ambitious student with a passion for technology into an entrepreneur, data analytics professional, and emerging leader in artificial intelligence.

Sequoah chose Broward College because it offered something essential to her vision for the future: an affordable, high-quality education with the flexibility to balance school, work, and professional growth. That flexibility proved instrumental as she pursued her education while building a career—and ultimately launching her own company.

In 2018, while completing her Associate in Arts degree, Sequoah founded SL Data Enterprises, LLC, a technology consulting company focused on helping organizations address complex business challenges through data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence. What began as an idea while she was a Broward College student evolved into a growing entrepreneurial venture and a platform for creating meaningful technological solutions.

One of the defining moments of Sequoah’s academic journey came during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she developed the Missed Baby Report, an initiative designed to identify newborns who had not received their required newborn hearing screenings. By using technology and data analytics to help healthcare providers identify babies who needed follow-up care, the project demonstrated how data can move beyond spreadsheets and dashboards to address urgent, real-world challenges.

Her work also earned national recognition. In 2022, Sequoah was selected as a Collegiate Award Finalist by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT), placing her among only 80 postsecondary students nationwide recognized for excellence in technology. For Sequoah, the recognition was not only a personal achievement—it was an opportunity to represent Broward College and her community on a national stage.

Behind these accomplishments were mentors who helped shape her approach to technology, leadership, and problem-solving. Dr. Victor Arenas and Professor Dina Durand made a lasting impact on Sequoah, challenging her to think critically, approach problems like an engineer, and lead with the mindset of a business professional. Their influence continues to inform the way she approaches innovation and lifelong learning.

Today, Sequoah applies that foundation through SL Data Enterprises, providing consulting services to The AES Corporation. Her work centers on developing enterprise artificial intelligence, analytics, and automation solutions using technologies such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, and Power BI. Through this work, she helps organizations modernize processes, strengthen decision-making, and use emerging technology to create measurable business value.

Yet Sequoah’s journey is far from finished.

Committed to continuous growth, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Analytics through the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Online Master of Science in Analytics program, expanding her expertise in analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Her long-term goal is to bring that knowledge full circle by returning to Broward College as an educator and helping inspire the next generation of students.

Perhaps the most meaningful part of Sequoah’s story is what her Broward College experience represents for her family and community. As a first-generation Bahamian American college graduate in her family, she understands firsthand the transformative power of access to education and opportunity.

For Sequoah, Broward College provided far more than two degrees. It gave her the confidence to pursue possibilities that once seemed beyond reach, the skills to turn ideas into action, and the foundation to build a career centered on technology and innovation.
