Valeria Henao is a talented 3D animation major atRochester Institute of Technology, who is working toward her dream of becoming a filmmaker!
Valeria is now in her fourth and final year at RIT, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Animation with a focus in 3D animation, along with a minor in Italian Language and Culture. Currently, she is working on her capstone project—her third and final student animated film—which marks an exciting culmination of her academic journey.
Valeria has been gaining invaluable experience throughout her time at RIT. Last summer, she interned withZimmerman Advertisingas a dedicated MINDTRIC intern in their production department. During her internship, Valeria worked on projects for notable clients likeOffice Depot,Kay Jewelers,AutoNation,Urban Air Adventure Parks, andFive Below. While the specifics of her work are still under wraps, Valeria is incredibly proud of the work she produced during her time with the company.
Throughout her time at RIT, Valeria has continued to refine her animation skills, producing two previous animated films, including her first short film, Party Crasher. She also balances her academic work with her role as an assistant teacher at an on-campus daycare, working with children ranging from newborns to five years old.
As Valeria nears graduation, she is excited to continue building her portfolio and reel, with hopes of applying to jobs in the film industry after she graduates in 2025. Her journey reflects her passion, dedication, and commitment to bringing her creative visions to life!
